Hi, I’m Seth Taube.
I'm a successful entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist.
After founding two billion-dollar companies and taking them public, I learned from the inside the limits of playing finite games and the perils of the current incentive system.
Since then, I've come back to deeper questions: What does a win-win future look like for humanity and the planet?
My current work is focused on the healing economy: helping scale organizations that promote human flourishing and protect the planet. The work is both personal and systemic.
I serve as an advisor, investor and collaborator.

EXPERIENCE
I create results.
I am a seasoned and successful entrepreneur, founding multiple companies over the past 25 years, two of which became billion-dollar companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange. These businesses have provided capital to over 500 companies in North America, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs in over 35 industries.
I began my career in financial services working at top institutions, including Morgan Stanley and Tiger Management.
I train and develop people and teams.
I am actively engaged in training and developing the leaders of my own businesses, as well as leaders of businesses in which I invest and the charities in which I am involved. I have trained and developed hundreds of leaders with novel training methodologies and systems over the last two decades.
These systems borrowed from ontological philosophy, cognitive psychology, meditation and mindfulness, as well as unique content and modalities that I developed with my team.
Colleagues that I have mentored now hold senior positions at large corporations, foundations and non-profit enterprises.
Personally, I have trained in a range of leadership modalities over the last twenty-five years and continue to expand my own leadership capabilities in order to continue to train and develop others.
I'm passionate about mental wellness.
I work with individuals and organizations creating new modes of healing trauma and suffering in all forms. Most recently, I co-founded Progressive Therapeutics Inc. and serve on the board of the Ketamine Research Foundation, both of which are pioneering the development of novel psychoactive and psychedelic therapeutics and training methodologies to help alleviate trauma and suffering globally.
I play the violin and love the outdoors.
With over four decades of experience as a violinist, I am an avid musician, performing regularly in the San Francisco Bay Area with various symphony and chamber music groups. I also performs with local bands and bluegrass ensembles. As an avid bicyclist, I've raced and pedaled throughout California, North Carolina, New England and internationally. Annually, I ride over 5,000 miles to explore the world and expand my love of our planet.
I'm a lifelong learner.
I graduated from Harvard University, where my interest in neuroscience, mental health, and human flourishing was ignited. I also received a Master’s degree from St. Andrew’s University in Great Britain and an MBA from Wharton.
I am passionate about neuroscience, mental wellness, consciousness, technology, education and climate change. In addition, I maintain a meditation practice that is influenced by the Dzogchen and Mahamudra Buddhism lineages. I am grateful for my teachers, Dan Brown and Dustin DiPerna.
I give back.
In 2003, I founded The Seth Taube Foundation Inc., to which I have committed tens of millions of dollars to support education reform and the healing economy, which I define as both philanthropic and for-profit ventures seeking to create a thriving future for humanity and the planet.
EXPLORATIONS
Exploring these questions is the driving force behind how I am focusing my time and energy.
How can we develop and promote technologies that enhance human consciousness and well-being, rather than distract, isolate, or numb us?
What problems would we be able to solve for the planet if these happen?
How can we ensure that advanced technologies are aligned with human values and serve the common good, rather than undermine human autonomy and well-being?
What would the world look like if the resources for lasting inner peace and optimal wellbeing were accessible to everyone everywhere?
How do we build companies and organizations that have incentive structures that allow for people to do well and do good simultaneously?
How do we shift our extractive consumption mindset to a more altruistic, regenerative system?
How do we exponentially reduce trauma and suffering?
What does it mean to be human and what does human flourishing look like?
INFLUENCES
These are meaningful books that have shaped my worldview, and influenced my actions in the world.
